ANC shambles continue to destabilize KZN’s progress

The DA in KZN notes the ANC’s latest shenanigans playing out in this province. On Friday afternoon disgruntled members of the ANC went to court and successfully prevented the ANC Provincial Elective Congress from proceeding. The court ruling meant the three-day conference will not go ahead. This outcome is another indication of a party that suffers deep internal conflict and self-destruction.

It is obvious that the ANC cannot get it house in order and cannot be trusted to govern in this province and the country as a whole. For months now the governing party has held this province at ransom with its factional fighting.

Development has come to a standstill with the uncertainty as to who is in charge of the province. These debacles have the potential to turn away investors who are bound to lose all confidence in this province, and the people of KwaZulu Natal will, in turn, be the ones who suffer the brunt of careless and irresponsible leaders.

Service delivery has been knocked by the ANC infighting in this province, with one faction sabotaging another. Political murders have left widows and widowers because ANC politicians are eyeing positions rather than delivering services to the people.

The ANC has long turned its back on people, it is now a divided and fractured organisation that focuses on power rather that delivery in government. The people of KwaZulu Natal can see for themselves that this organisation has no plans to make their lives better. In the midst of a crumbling economy, we have a governing party that is so self-absorbed, it cannot see that see that people are suffering.

The people of KwaZulu-Natal have been taken for granted for far too long, it is time for them to stand up and say no more to a governing party hell-bent on bad governance, greed and self-interest above the people.

The people of KwaZulu Natal will discard the ANC at the ballot box in the 2019 election and choose a party with a track record of delivering real service to the people. The Democratic Alliance is ready and waiting to usher people of KwaZulu Natal to better services and a government that will put them first.
